Democrat Carlos Vega Condemns the Dangerous Bail Policy of District Attorney Larry Krasner in the Case of Milan Loncar

Philadelphia, PA — Today, Carlos Vega, a Democratic candidate for District Attorney, expressed his sympathy to the family of Milan Loncar, praised the arrest of Josephus Davis in the murder of Milan Loncar, and condemned the bail policy of District Attorney Larry Krasner.

“My heartfelt sympathies go to the family of Milan Loncar, and I applaud the great work of the Philadelphia homicide detectives on the arrest of Josephus Davis,” said Carlos Vega, a retired 35-year prosecutor and a Democratic candidate for District Attorney.

Josephus Davis, a twice-convicted felon, was in jail just three weeks prior to Milan Loncar’s murder for an alleged carjacking at gunpoint. Two weeks prior to Milan Loncar’s muder, Davis posted bail after it was lowered from $100,000 to $20,000.

“While I’m pleased that an arrest has been made in this tragic murder, I’m outraged that the suspected perpetrator was even allowed on the streets. If it weren’t for the dangerous bail policy of DA Krasner, Milan Loncar would be alive today,” said Mr. Vega.

“DA Krasner’s bail policy has completely undermined the safety of our citizens and has resulted in the death of a young man who had so much potential to do good in this city,” Mr. Vega continued.
